| When: | Friday, March 30 - Sunday, April 1 2007. It's a weekend, so you know you can make it! |
| Where: | The Riviera Hotel and Casino2901 Las Vegas Boulevard South Las Vegas, NV 89109-1933, U.S.A. 1-800-634-6753 * It is recommended that you book your rooms as soon as possible. The USTSA is having a large Foosball tournament at the Riviera this same weekend, so rooms will go quickly. |
| Who: | Anyone is eligible to enter - from beginners to masters. No qualification games must be played to enter, and no USAA ranking is required (although a ranking will usually help boost your seeding [placement] in the tournament!) There is a sliding-scale entry fee that goes up depending on your skill level. The Beginner-level entry fee (one who has never played in a tournament) is $25. Every person who competes will receive an official USAA ranking (and a tournament T-shirt!) Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to tournament and bracket winners. |
| What: | The 2007 World Air Hockey Championships is fully sanctioned by the USAA, and Dynamo is its largest sponsor. The tournament will run from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. Doubles competition is Friday. 2 teams of 2 people each compete against each other. Doubles is analogous to tag-team wrestling, except that you don't tag your partner to rotate him or her in - you play until you are scored upon. When this happens, your partner then steps in, and will continue play, until he or she is scored upon. And so on. Singles competition begins Saturday, ending with the finals Sunday evening, and is double-elimination. If you get knocked out of the "main bracket", do not leave! You will get to continue playing everyone else in your bracket (Beginner, Novice, Amateur, Expert, Pro, Master) for your final placement and ranking. No quarters needed!! Your entry fee covers all practice and competition games! |
| Why: | To decide who the best Air Hockey player in the world is! To compete, to have fun, to learn, to meet new friends and old acquaintances, and to play the best Air Hockey available anywhere on the planet! And you were just waiting for an excuse to go to Las Vegas, anyway. |
