Officially announced in March by the Texas Air Hockey Group (TAG) at the 2009 World Championships in Las Vegas, TAG is striving to make the 2009 US Open, being held in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. on July 24-26, the highest-attended tournament in Air Hockey history. Whether you are an expert player, or have just begun playing, this is a tournament you will not want to miss --

Ehab Shoukry wins 2009 Vegas World Championships

Ehab Shoukry decisively won the 2009 Vegas World Championships this year, winning seven straight matches to take the crown over runner-up Davis Huynh. Keith Fletcher came in third place, Danny Hynes in fourth, and Brian Accrocco rounded out the top five.

The Doubles event was won by Mark Nizzi and Davis Huynh, with Brian Accrocco and Joe Cain taking second.

Not able to make it to Las Vegas for the 2009 World Championships? Tune in to the webcast, being streamed LIVE from the Tournament Hall! This year Ustream.TV is being utilized as the broadcast platform, and should be able to handle an essentially unlimited number of viewers. 2009 World Air Hockey Championships Officially Announced

The RivieraMichael L. Rosen has officially confirmed the dates for the 2009 World Air Hockey Championships: March 13-14-15, 2009 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. The USAA Board meeting will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 13. Doubles will take place Friday, March 13, with Singles beginning Saturday, March 14, with the Finals taking place Sunday, March 15, followed by the Awards Banquet Sunday evening.

Danny Hynes Undefeated in Texas State Open

Current World Champion Danny Hynes won first place in the Texas State Open Classic Air Hockey Championship held in Plano, Texas this past weekend. Hynes walked away undefeated, not losing a single game in Doubles or Singles matches. Jimmy Heilander, who came battling up through the winner's bracket finals, and then through the tournament finals, was unable to defeat Hynes, and finished 2nd place. Syed Rahman and Andrew Flanagan fought each other to the 7th game, with Rahman winning their match and placing 3rd. The complete results:

2008 Texas State Open confirmed

Texas State Open logoOctober 24-26 are now the confirmed dates for the 2008 Texas State Open! It will be held at the Southfork Hotel in Plano, a northern suburb of Dallas. The tournament will be played on Chris Green's beautifully restored classic Brunswick tables. Players from all States are invited to enter -- you need not be a Texas resident to compete. Online pre-registration will be available beginning October 1st.
